Accounts filing requirements and legal obligations

In Turkey, there is no obligatory public registry of companies’ financial and detailed general data. Information is obtained from legal institutes and the company itself. Only the stock exchange registered companies are obliged to announce their data and should present their balances to the public.

Financial information of the company cannot be shared with third parties without permission of the company. There are serious penalties for breaching this rule. Therefore, in order to collect company’s data, an information agency has to contact the company and get authorization. However, majority of the companies strictly declines to give such authorization. Vat registered companies should give VAT declaration every month. Every 3 months they should submit a temporary Tax Declaration. In the end of year, companies submit final Tax Declaration.
